About
Pocket Lap started as a group chat where four friends kept swapping screenshots of mobile games and arguing about which ones had the best handling. At some point we decided to write it all down properly, and the site grew from there. Nobody here does this because a publisher asked us to.
We focus on arcades, racers, and the kind of casual games you pick up in a queue and put down without regret. Every game we cover gets real playtime — we don't review a title from a trailer. If a game needs ten hours to open up, we give it ten hours before saying anything.
Games land in our catalog the same way they land on our phones: someone spots it, we all download it, and we compare notes over a week or two. If it clicks with at least two of us, it gets a review. If it's broken or boring, we say so plainly.
There's no scoring algorithm and no sponsor list. The ratings are just our opinion after playing, nothing more scientific than that.
Mateusz Kowalczyk — Mateusz has been playing arcade racers since he was tall enough to reach the arcade cabinet. He keeps the reviews fast and the opinions honest.
