Ember of the Hollow

Ember of the Hollow is a pocket-sized action RPG that respects your time. Combat is a mix of tapping to strike and swiping to dodge, and it reads cleanly even in the heat of a boss fight. There's a skill tree, but it's small enough that every choice actually matters instead of drowning you in filler nodes.

The world is the draw. It's a fading kingdom told through short, well-written encounters, and the game trusts you to piece things together rather than dumping lore in your lap. Choices in dialogue genuinely branch some side quests, which is rare in a mobile RPG this compact.

It runs fine on older phones and respects offline play, so it's a solid pick for a long train ride. If you want a hundred-hour grind, look elsewhere — this is a tight fifteen hours with a real ending.
